Kunming
Between September '04 and January '05 I was living and studying in Kunming.
Known as the "Spring City" because the climate is so mild year round. Like most Chinese cities
Kunming has had it character sucked out by recent modernizations, but because it
is on the periphery of China the city is home to many ethnic minorities.
Downtown Kunming
The most popular fast food in Kunming is "Chou DoFu" which translates as
"Smelly Tofu", it certainly lives up to its reputation.
The tofu is cooked by the customer on little outdoor 'barbecues'.
It seems as if every street corner has a ChouDofu vendor, creating a quite a stink.
Who needs an expensive welding mask, when you have a pair of fake Ray-Bans and yesterdays paper?
