Raytracing Assignment:

Solution 2001: click here

Your Raytacing Assigment will be to reproduce a particular image using POVRay.  I will give you the  image on the day of the exam. You will then have a two supervised hours in the lab to do the assignment. I won't be expecting an exact replica, but you must include the main features.

I will give you the assignment some time in the 3rd term. In the meantime you should be practicing using POVRay,  The self installing .exe for POVRay is available on the common drive, in \graphics\raytrace\povwin3.exe, alternatively it can be downloaded from www.povray.org.

The objective is to demonstrate your knowledge of the POVRay language. At a minimum, you should be able to use the basic features of the language such as transformations, translations, CSG, texture options, light sources and include files. See "Creating Simple Scenes" in the on-line tutorial.

However, I will also expect you to be able to use more advanced features such as lathes and image maps.
