Chinese Snacks
The Chinese love snacks while they are out and about. Especially, it seems, they love food on a stick, ANY food on a stick. I've taken a few photos to illustrate.
Sea-food is always popular
Fried Silk worm pupae. This is a particular Winter favorite. Apparently they are very tasty once you get past the crunch. But I've not had the courage, yet
"How much is that doggie in the Window?"
Choices, choices, choices ....
A traditional Spring Festival snack are candied haws (top of my photo). I think they are related to hawthorn fruit, that we have in Ireland, but they are about 1.5inches across. These are stuck on a stick and coated with meted sugar. They taste quite good. Other fruits are also candied, but the haw is the favorite. Doesn't the customer have fantastic ear-muffs?
