Webcam Sercurity System

The Webcam Sercurity System aims to provide a simple sercurity option for everyday users without the need for exspensive software or hardware. All the user would need to run the application would be a generic webcam adn a system capable of running Java.

The system allows user to start the program and leave it running when the leave the room or the house and it will monitor the area while they are gone. The system will takeimages at set intervals using the webcam adn proceed to process the image using mulitple image processing techniques including background subtraction,Edge Detection and classification. If the system picks up something on the image will proceed to send the user a SMS message to their phone to inform them of intrusion. The system will continue to monitor the area till it is deactivated running through the cycle of taking the image and checking it.
