Issues/Problems:

1.To build any type of good quality VR device is very expensive. In particular for PC. It requires remote, glassware, and headphone. For the mobile device only need a VR glassware. Headphone can be built inside the glassware or not.

2.It requires high performance device to experience VR. VR technology is a very complex technology. It need device do a lot of program processing and graphics processing. Poorly performance hardware not got good VR experience. It also needs high resolution to got good VR experience on mobile device.

3.There not many third-party software support VR. Most VR software only can be use on very few ranges of hardware. Which means each hardware has exactly match software to pair with. It may not work well with third-party software.

Opportunities:

There are not many companies do VR to teaching English. It is a good opportunity to start a project to teaching English by using VR.

In terms of education, especially in China, we find English is always a lot of shortcomings of Chinese students, with no idea to study abroad just to take the university entrance exam students to learn English, because English is poor so they get low grade average, to go abroad to study or the study abroad students, they may not be English passed the IELTS or TOEFL test, but when they are in a real pure English environment, they will find most things before learning is too shallow, they cannot in the real English environment communication, sometimes in class, they can't understand what is the lectures said, and then they failure in the final exam.

This is a very serious problem, English as the second language of Chinese students can be said to be a very important thing, learning English has become one of the problems that many people have been trying to solve for many years. But what methods should be taken to help Chinese students learn English more effectively?

In my view, learning English is mainly divided into four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Many Chinese students are good at reading and writing, because they have been trained in reading comprehension and writing since primary school, but they are not good at listening and speaking. In China, everyone speaks Chinese in daily life, so there is no good English learning environment. Sometimes they are reading and listening English are in class. Lack of time to practice listening and speaking is one of the main reasons why Chinese students cannot communicate with foreigners smoothly after going abroad. Therefore, the main problem we need to solve is the lack of listening and speaking of Chinese students.

In technical aspect, before this project, I just played games with VR technology before, but I don’t know anything about the principles of VR technology, so this will be a huge challenge for me. After I did some investigation, I learned that virtual reality is a way to create a computer-generated environment that immerses the user into a virtual world. When we put on a VR headset it takes us to a simulated set-up making us completely aloof from the actual surroundings, If my goal is to learn VR knowledge ,I do understand the concept but what about the technical backend that how goes into making it all possible. How to enter some content about our project in the software and connect to VR glasses, which was important for our consumers feel the real English environment.

On the other hand, there are still some issues is not related to IT technology that I will face, for example, I have never contacted a company by myself before, and I am also a newcomer about how to do some market research, and in the second half of the project, we need to create a real VR glasses and plan how many we can sell?

VR glasses have great opportunities in education, not only that, VR glasses can also teach people who can't drive to learn drive, they can use VR glasses to feel the real driving experience, using VR glasses will make some new drivers learn to drive safer and more efficient, In many ways, the VR market has great opportunities
